The Number 1 Reason Your Content Business Is Failing
Side hustles feel like they are becoming so common that most people seem to have one.
So if so many people are running side hustles, why does it feel like some people grind for years without any success and others find it overnight? We all started with no followers, clients, or customers, so how do some seem to be flooded with them while others work day and night for each one? Online gurus talk about hacks and tactics, but the reality is far more mundane.
Online businesses fail based on 1 simple reason.
The Reason: Lack Of Consistency
In January 2025, I started writing articles online with the intent of writing one every day...until I lasted a week and accidentally stopped.
I wondered why some writers were getting hundreds of likes, comments, or shares and thousands of views on their work, but mine were stuck around 5-10. I had to be honest with myself that I had not put in the consistent volume necessary to gain any readers, much less the thousand I saw others receive. I mistakenly thought that 7 short days gave me the right to have an audience.
This assumption that a few days should lead to success was wrong for me to think and it's wrong for any business owner to think.
How Consistency Leads To Success
Consistency is about more than doing something on a set schedule.
It's about committing to yourself to put in the work even if no one ever watches. If you cannot uphold promises even to yourself, how will you ever uphold promises to an audience or paying customers? Putting in the daily work will help prepare you for when the audience and customers do come so that you're able to step into the level required for success.
Consistency is about putting in the work every day, training yourself to do the boring work even when you know no one else will ever see it.
