What Business Owners Can Learn From Anakin Skywalker
Star Wars is full of lessons about doing the right thing and overcoming impossible obstacles.
Most fans think about the Rebellion and how it overcame the Empire, which was far better funded, supplied, and staffed. However, Anakin Skywalker has been who I look to for inspiration for how he achieves success after success. Yes, he ultimately turns to the dark side which isn't great, but we understand why he does it even if it's the wrong choice.
Entrepreneurs and business owners can learn 2 key things from Anakin (and maybe not go full dark side).
Anakin Acts With Conviction
Whether Anakin is fighting with the Jedi against the separatists or with the Empire against the rebels, he acts with full belief in what he is doing.
One of my favorite Anakin scenes is in the Ahsoka series where he is completing Ahsoka's training. He gives Ahsoke a choice of whether to live or die, which she responds to with, "No." After Anakin tells her that's incorrect and overpowers her, he stalks forward and says, "You lack conviction."
When facing incredible obstacles, the businesses that win are convicted in their belief that they are right and success comes.
Anakin Acts Without Overthinking
In the prequil movies and the Clone Wars series, we see Anakin taking action while other Jedi are still contemplating what the best move is.
Yes, Anakin is wrong as many times as he is right, but the key is he doesn't overthink and immediately jumps in with decisive action. It gets him in trouble sometimes, but his ability to act anyway always gets him out as well. We even see in the Clone Wars that Anakin finishes a battle early enough to come help Obi Wan finish his.
While other Jedi are still strategizing and thinking about what the best move it, Anakin has already finished multiple battles and is far ahead.
